The AGP eGlass Factory is not just a workspace; it's an inspiration for those who work there. The design brief was to create a space that would inspire the operators and engineers to work as cleanly as possible. The result is a stimulating office space that maximizes transparency and visibility towards the industrial line. This facility is set to supply the largest windscreen ever produced for a passenger car, building trust with their clients, primarily USA and European automakers.
What sets the AGP eGlass Factory apart is its unique blend of form and function. The factory spans over 1 hectare of industrial space and offices. The design negotiates a neutral façade with a pristine interior space. The boardroom, exposed at the entry, hovers over the triple-height lobby, acting as a visual valve to the industry line. The office area is a vast open space, with production offices located in the middle of the production line, offering a clear view of most areas. An inner ultra-clear glass façade reinforces the visual connection between offices and industry line.
The realization of this design involved a plethora of technologies and materials. From lighting by Josfel and Trazzo iluminacion to office furniture by Fantoni and Ergospazio, every element was meticulously chosen. The project also utilized AGP glass, Vanceva PBV coloured glass, Dickson Coatings tensile textiles, Isaval epoxi floor, Porcelanosa lobby floor, and Armstrong acoustical ceiling, among others.
The design process was not without its challenges. The project had to be designed and built within a year to meet production needs. However, the results were worth the effort. The wellbeing, spirit, and satisfaction of the employees have increased exponentially, as has their productivity and ability to focus. The design has proven that in an environment where cleanliness is not the norm, design can aid in channeling behavior.
The AGP eGlass Factory is a testament to the power of design in shaping behavior and enhancing productivity. It's a shining example of how industrial spaces can be transformed into inspiring work environments. The project is a testament to Felipe Ferrer's innovative design approach and his ability to create spaces that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
